Residential North

Our support to you

We know that our teams provide an exceptional quality of care for our children and young people. However, we recognise that to achieve the best outcomes we, as an organisation, need to make sure that teams are supported and provided with opportunities to reflect, learn, be heard, feel valued, and connected to the wider systems around them.

That’s why, here at Barnardo’s, within our residential services we:

1. Employ a Therapeutic worker who will:

2. Provide practice based and reflective supervisions.

3. Implement Coaching & Mentoring opportunities to ensure experience and best practices are shared throughout teams for consistent approaches.

4. Ensure individual development opportunities via our extensive Learning and Development programmes and annual Performance and Growth Reviews. Additionally, for those colleagues who have aspirations of progressing to the Role of Registered Manager, in conjunction with our Care Pathways Team we offer the Aspiring Managers programme.

Internal critical incident debriefs & team support

In addition to our learning, development and supportive opportunities, we have a range of Communities of Practice and forums, providing responsive and current information pertinent to safely supporting children and young people.
