Residential North
I am delighted that you are considering joining us here at Barnardo’s.

We have over 150 years of experience delivering services in communities to children, young people, and their families across the UK. We deliver a range of services to meet the varied and sometimes complex needs of those who need us most. A key to our ability to do this is our people. We can only achieve this goal by recruiting staff and volunteers who not only share our vision and values, but who demonstrate this in practice. We are a large, diverse family with a variety of skills and knowledge, experience, and expertise, all working together as one Barnardo’s. If you believe in our basis and values, then we want to hear from you! We look forward to receiving your application and hopefully giving you the opportunity to make a difference.
We’re focused on changing childhoods and changing lives. A huge amount of change is needed, but we know we can’t do everything, and we need to focus our efforts and energies where we can make the biggest difference.
Find out more about our approach to supporting our people and creating a welcoming culture. Nurturing our people is vital to help us meet our core purpose of achieving better outcomes for more children.
We have a duty to ensure that teams are supported and provided with opportunities to reflect, learn, be heard, feel valued and connected to the wider systems around them.
The Assistant Director of Children's Services for North Residential Services oversees the Responsible Individual, who in turn oversees the Registered Manager; the Registered Manager is responsible for the Deputy Manager (who manages Senior Residential Children and Young People's Workers and Residential Children and Young People's Workers), the Therapeutic Support role, and the Administrator, who supervises the Handy Person/Gardener and the Domestic staff.
